My name is Khayriyyah; my partners and I established this website to combine sills and share our passions. My passions include Public Service, International Relations, Personal Growth, and Youth Leadership Development.
I see myself as a social entrepreneur. I seek learning, work and service experiences that increase my ability to perform and influence acts of humanity everyday life. I see myself, someday, as a consultant helping others become influencing agents for human literacy (see working definition under Mursalata's profile).
My experiences so far have shown me that people have to learn and relearn many things throughout life.
My interests in public policy, personal growth, and youth leadership fit well under the concept of Human Literacy. NOTE: Youth comprise the single largest most disenfranchised group on the planet.
I bring 16-years of community involvement and youth leadership experience to the start of my college career. I began honing my leadership skills as a Daisy Girl Scout while attending kindergarten at the Friends School in State College Pennsylvania. Over the past 12-years I have spent countless hours engaged in social change, as a Girl Scout (13yrs), a Board Trustee for the Grand Rapids Community Foundation(2-yrs), as member of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation's Youth Advisory Committee (4-yrs), and as a member of the Michigan Community Foundation's Youth Project.
I am honored to work with my partners in helping non-profit organizations be inclusive organizations. I look forward to senior year of college.
Sincerely,
Khayriyyah
